1 week! & thanksgiving!

This is about ohh 3 days behind but hey better late than never :)

I am ONE week old!
I am smiling alot. I know people say this is just gas. But we think its the real thing. She does if you tickle her nose or feet & when daddy rubs her back "just right". We are anxiously awaiting her umbilical cord to fall off. Its so icky looking & stinks! & cleaning it gives me the he-bee-gee-bees.

Yesterday was buggy's FIRST Thanksgiving. Yes, she did sleep thru just about all of it. But I think it was a PERFECT first Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for so much this year. Its hard to believe last year at this time I had, had my second miscarriage & here I am a year later with the most beautiful little girl in the world. I am so thankful for our little miracle & for beating all the odds. I am thankful for my wonderful husband whom I have fallen back in love with over the last week of us with our new little family. I didn't think I could love him more, but he proved me wrong.

Last night, I ventured to the outlets for the black friday deal. Luckily the only place I wanted to go was Carters & they opened at 11! I got bug so many cute things for 50 to 60% percent off, plus a additional 10% & I had a coupon for another 20%! So exciting. I couldn't help but smiling while waiting & thinking last year I was in the line anxiously awaiting for Coach to open, & this year I was so much more excited about Carters! :) I love how my life has changed, & wouldn't change it for the world. & Brandon got his Christmas gift that was supposed to be originally from me that my parents stole & made it "our" combined gift & got a new flat screen for above our fireplace. Which we did online, THANK GOD. Hoping everyone had an wonderful Thanksgiving & for those who dared black friday got some fab deals!

Sidenote: thank you to Tracey @ Sweet T for telling about this sweater! I snagged it for 12$! & I LOVE it!

12 days of christmas challenge!

Day 4: Tips/Tricks to a Budget Friendly holiday season

Even though I make a budget every year, I do not stick to one. We always spend wayy more than what we orginally planned. I may not be of much help with this subject, but I will give it a shot.

So, if I could stick to a budget I would do these things:

-Stick to a list
-along with a budget for each person you are buying for
-go on black friday you find SO many great deals (don't forget your list)
-i love doing baskets of smaller things, rather than a one big expensive gift

12 days of christmas challenge!

Day 3: Most meaningful gift/best gift you've received

One that sticks out from my childhood would have to be the year I got my first American Doll. I wasn't much of a "girly-girl". But I LOVED the American Dolls. I am assuming most of you women/mom's out there no what these are & know how freakin expensive they are for a doll & a book. So, I had always asked for one but knew it was a far fetch. Until one Christmas I open my present & just saw American Girl written small on the side of the box & I started balling. I was one happy little girl.

I love all the presents my 9 year old niece (who happens to be one of my best friends) gets me each year. She has been picking them out herself now for a few years. & it is so fun to listen to why she picks certain things & how much effort she puts into them.

I also get a coach bag every year. It start a loooonngg time ago in highschool when I got one & now either my mother gets one for me. Or I enduldge in myself & buy one. On Thanksgiving night our coach outlet has purses 50% off then the first 20 people get a addition 20%!!! I have been first in line every year since I can remember! :) I got my coach diaper bag reg. 670 something & got it for 145 I believe WOOHOO!

12 days of christmas challenge!

Day 2: Black Friday/General Shopping Tips & Tricks

  • First off, STARBUCKS. Have some in hand while waiting in line.

  • Figure out what you are getting and where. Alot of stores will hand out a map of where everything is at in the store, so you can RUN! ;)

  • Be prepared with lots of clothes (if it is cold where you are) because you will freeze your tootsie off!

  • As much as I hate to say it, you can't be nice. The other women around you won't be & at the wee hours of the morning on black friday I am sure it says somewhere this is one time you don't have to "do unto others". So grab that awesome deal as fast as you can even if the lady  next to you is reaching for it ;) hehehe
HAPPY SHOPPING! :)

Today starts DAY 1:
Christmas Holiday Traditions

We only have a few. Brandon & I get our Christmas Tree from the same place every year, they are a super sweet elderly couple with a tiny RV outside their Christmas tree farm. The reason I love it, is they take a picture of your family every year with your tree & put it in a album, they take doubles so you can take one. But they put out the past 2 or so years albums & it is so fun to look back!

Christmas Eve, we go to my parents house. We open on gift that is always PJ's & have to swear to wear them weather we stay the night with them at their house or not. & of course watch "the christmas story" on TBS. & Christmas morning is also spent with my parents. Although, now once Buggy gets bigger we will have our own morning. I am not exactly sure how we are doing Christmas this year with Brandons Mom. Last year we did it the week before be cause my sister-in law was going down to be with her family on Christmas. So we still need to work out the kinks now that each grandparents wants their time with Buggy.

We are on the mad hunt to find to "perfect" night before Christmas book to read to Buggy each year. (My parents did the same & I love looking at the old crinkled, stained with milk book) I was thinking the grinch & getting the stuffed animal from Kohl's but Brandon declined. So we are still on the hunt! I also want to get her something every year that is the same. I got a Christmas Barbie every year, so we will see what Bug will get it!

I can't wait to start traditions with new little family! :)

mommy's newest DIY project

Kennedy's 1st Thanksgiving outfit! Made with love from mommy! (the tutu that is)
the onesie is a 0-3 im going to try to shrink it, if I can't. I am back on the hunt because finding one that is newborn has been brutal. I have not found any. But one, & it didn't have a turkey or anything on it.

Anyway. This is my second tutu attempt, the first was a sewing one & this one is the knot one which I like better. I need to trim it up, but other than that I must say my daughter will be one adorable looking baby on her first thanksgiving! GOBBLE GOBBLE! :)

37 weeks!!

How far along? 37 weeks!

Total weight gain/loss: lord, i don't even want to know.

Sleep:  mm 20 mins a night? & maybe a nap if I am lucky

Food cravings: making pumpkin bread this evening. it sounded delish.

Best moment this week: got THEE cutest ralph lauren dress (one of my fav desingers) for drum roll please TEN DOLLARS! normally 40! so whoop whoop! Her RL collection is still small but growing :)
This is the dress but in pink! it comes with a diaper cover as well! & the horse is in a different spot it is up where it would be on a polo, which is why it was on sale instead of on the pocket like the picture. odd, but saved money in pocket :)
we also did alllll of the paper work you usually do when you first come in for delivery! Including her birth certificate & social security number paperwork, just had to leave the date & time blank! Brandon was smiling from EAR TO EAR. So adorable.

Movement: still pretty painful, i have to push in her body parts which frequently

Labor Signs: 2 1/2 cm dilated & head stationed as of last thursday! & barely any contractions this week. Will update with dilation & what not tomorow after my appt.

Gender: pretty pretty princess

Stretchies: i dont even want to talk about it.

Belly Button in or out? not quite out but you can see it pokin thru my shirt!

What I miss: SLEEP!

What I am looking forward to: Her arrival anytime now!!!!

Symptoms: everything. if it is a symptom of pregnancy i have it at this point haha

Milestones: making it another week!!

Weekly wisdom:  when having back  and pelvic pain, getting on your knees and forearms spreading your legs open shoulder-width relieves alot of pain (not as much as I would hope, but for those that haven't had a baby stationed for weeks, it would probably be more beneficial)  as well as "baby pose" for yoga.

Emotions: happy, ecstatic, exhausted

cutting the cord.

So I have to turn in my official birthplan on Thursday! I had already written for Brandon to cut the cord (I had just assumed this was a given), & when I was reading it to him. He kinda gave a funny look. & I asked what? Do you not want to? & he replies "uhh, I don't know" but he wouldn't answer why he didn't know if he was going to. I talked to my mom about it & she said she wanted to do it then. So today, I went & visited him at work to eat lunch & told him that my mom said she would if didn't want to. He had this huge fit, then finally told me why he didn't know. The poor man thinks he is going to hurt her. I couldn't help but giggle but felt so bad about it. I told him he def wouldn't be hurting her & there is a small chance he wouldn't even be able to with the cord being around her neck.

So my question is to my preggy friends, if your husband nervous about cutting the cord & I am werid for assuming all husbands/partners are automatically going to want to do it?
